Meet Our

Our church staff is small but mighty! Jeff Richardson and Christina Richardson (no relation, just coincidence) are supported by a large network of volunteers, dedicated to Sharing God’s Love with all who come into contact with St. Michael’s.

Jeff Richardson

Music Minister

Jeff is our full time music minister and office manager. Jeff was born in Tyler and raised in Longview, graduating from Longview High School in 1981. Going straight to Baylor University in Waco, he majored in religion and Greek. After ten years, which Jeff calls “the decade of non-excellence” Jeff graduated from Baylor. In the meantime he had wandered into a 10 year career as a radio D.J. in Waco and Corpus Christi. During this time, Jeff married Lesa and aquired an instant family with four year old Tito. Lesa passed away in 1994 after an 18 month illness.

In 1995 Jeff and Tito moved from Waco back to Longview (back for Jeff, first time for Tito). Jeff began as the weekend keyboardist for St. Michael’s in December of 1996. The then current rector, The Rev. Ellis Brust, soon hired Jeff as half time music director and half time office worker. Jeff worked to update the computer system and office procedures as well as the worship music at St. Michael’s. In 2002, Jeff married Donna, his beautiful bride he met at St. Michael’s. They were married at Trinity by the Sea in Port Aransas, Texas and return there every year.

After almost 20 years at St. Michael’s, Jeff’s greatest joy is still leading the worship music. Jeff has written original worship music that the community of St. Michael’s loves and sings with joy. He continues to oversee the computers, network, printing, advertising, bookkeeping, contributions and various other things around St. Michael’s.

Jeff’s favorite pasttime is fishing. He will drive four hours to fish in the Gulf of Mexico, on his day off!

Christina Richardson

Nursery Director

I was born and raised in Longview, Texas. I am the oldest out of three siblings. After high school I attended Kilgore College and graduated with my Associates. Then I set off to UT Tyler University and study Interdisciplinary Studies. I graduated with my Bachelor of Science in 2006 specializing in Mathematics, Early Childhood, Reading. In 2007 I met my wonderful husband Jason. We were married in 2009.  We have three beautiful girls and two dogs. As a family we like to spend our time together outdoors. We love to explore the world and watch our girls learn new things everyday. We are also big animal lovers. I have been with St. Michaels for seven years. I can call this place home. I enjoy working with the children. It softens my heart to watch all the children in the nursery grow in their own little way. I consider the children as Mrs. Christina’s Angels.
